Selling Books

"Oh no! It's time to pay off my school bill. Oh no, oh no ...

I have raise a lot of money (10,000 THB / $300.00 USD). That's lots of money - for me!

So I went to my Dad and asked, "I need your help! How can I earn some money to pay off my school bill?

Dad said, "Hannah you can sell some books! I have the book, Christian Service, you can sell.''

''OK Dad, I need to sell these books fast, I mean fast. So I can pay my school bill."

Dad said, "Yep, these books will sell like hot cakes!"

I said, "Thanks for your help Dad!"

I was a little nervous but I had the courage to sell the books. I called up lots of people on the phone and asked them if they wanted to buy the books from me.

Some of the pastors said "Yes, I'll buy some of these books for my church members!"

One of my friends helped me keep records and sell the books. And I'm happy to say that they sold like hotcakes!

Visiting Klongtan

Today we went to one of the new church plants, and next month it will be three years old! As my sister and I walked to church, she almost stepped on a dog! It was lying on the street. I saw kittens and puppies trying to get out of their cages. One kitten looked just like my cat!

There were boys and girls who attended the morning Bible study. They sang songs for us in English. They learned these English songs during the classes they attend during the week.

After church, on our way home, we walked by the house of one of the students. So we stopped and visited her, and we prayed with her too!

We had a lot of fun there.

The Manger Message

Today we went to a Thai government school and shared the story of why Jesus came into the world and how He was born. Jesus came into the world to save us from sin, and He's coming back to take us home again!


The Hope for Bangkok team was asked to come to this school and to have a living nativity as a part of the school's fair. We started at 9 AM and finished at 3 PM. There were 700 students in grades K – 8 in the entire school. Each class rotated through the various stations, so we had 15 minutes with each group of students.

Our group sang carols and then acted out the Bible story of Christ's birth. First, I helped by playing Mary. When I got tired of doing this I was the angel. My mom then had the students from each class act as the characters from this Bible story: the angel, shepherds, Joseph & Mary, and the wise men.


I also presented the director of the school with a gift for each of the teachers. The gifts included a book on the 10 Commandments, a health lesson, and the Meaning of the Nativity Story.


I helped pass out the coloring sheets to the boys and girls.

The boys and girls of this school have never heard the story of Jesus. I made new friends at this school. The boys and girls were very excited that we came!

Sharing the News that Jesus is Born!

Today we went to one of the new church plants. They had a program to remember why Jesus was born. First we had church, then we ate lunch. I ate chocolate ice cream for lunch!

After eating lunch we went on a walk in the local community. After crossing the bridge my mom, dad, and their friend went to visit people at the slum. Then they came back for the gift exchange. I received a ship clock for the gift exchange.

I attend this program so that I could tell the Thai people that Jesus is born.

Crossing Into the Danger Zone

This morning at 3 AM, a building sank backwards about 5 feet into the ground. Now the building is tilting, like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is right next to one of our church plants. Why did it sink? Because Bangkok is sinking about 4 inches a year!

This sinking building is right next to our church plant in Ramkhamhaeng district of Bangkok. No one was reported hurt in this disaster, because God saved all the people living in this building.


Here I am with Pastor Kharom, standing in front of the church plant. The District Leader or Mayor came and set up the Disaster Relief Registration tables in front of the church plant. God spared the building our church plant is in from being damaged.


We gave out free bottled water to the people who were thirsty. We ran out of the bottled water in less than 20 minutes, because there was so many people there. Some of the people don't live in this neighborhood were police men, fire fighters & rescue workers, and the TV camera people.

We had to go to the store and buy more bottled water. We used our money to help others during this disaster in the Warm Zone.


The families all must move. So they moved all of their furniture and stuff out on the street. Some moved their things under some tents that the police set up.

The police came to guard the belongings of the families who have to move. I took this picture because they are drinking the water the kids from the church plant gave them!

I crossed the yellow tape to serve the people in need in the Warm Zone. Here in Thailand, the Warm Zone is the Danger Zone of a disaster or accident.

Jesus came to save me from sin in the Warm Zone of Earth.

Matthew 25:31-46
31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44 “Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

A Puppy Brings Kids to Church

Today I am a new church plant in Bangkok. One girl brought her little baby puppy to Sabbath School. It is two month old. It's cut and chubby! He has black & white fur. A little bit later, the puppy's mother and another doggy friend came to Sabbath School.
Because the other neighborhood kids wanted to see the cute puppy, now there are six kids!

God can use even a little puppy to bring boys & girls to learn about Him!
