The Cool Cave

Today I explored an underground cave. It had natural air conditioning! I had to go down ladders to reach the different rooms. One interesting rock I saw was the glittering and sparkling crystals. I also saw stalactites, and stalagmites! Stalactites grow down and stalagmites grow up from the floor. In in this cave I also saw a column - this is when a stalactite and stalagmite grow together! It was a glorious sight!

We went caving (spelunking) to find the bumble bee bat. It's also named the Kitti Hog nosed bat. But we didn't find any bats living in this cave. You can go to this Wikipedia website to learn more about this bat by clicking here.

Some rocks were wet and slippery. We had to use a flash light to explore, since there was no other light.

To my blog readers:
How many caves have you visited?
One, two, three? Four or five, or maybe 100!

The Infested Lasagna: A Lesson on Hoarding & Not Sharing

Here's a real life lesson we had for dinner last night . . . weevils in our lasagna noodles! Many missionary families sacrifice big and little things to spread the Gospel around the globe. Mom reflects on lessons on hoarding and not sharing in this episode . . .

The Christmas Program

Many of the people in Thailand don't know about Jesus, or His birth. So at our school this year, we are missionaries sharing the story of Jesus. I was one of the wise men for our Christmas outreach program.

This outreach program helped the students & parents to learn more about Jesus, His birth, and His mission. Jesus came to save us from our sins, and to give us the choice to go to heaven and live eternally with Him. My choice is to live with Jesus now, and forever.

To my blog readers:
  1. Do you know about Jesus?
  2. What's your choice?
  3. Do you know why Jesus came to earth?
  4. Have you ever been in a Christmas program?

The Snake That Grew Legs

Today my dad brought a snake home. He found it and caught it in our compost pile. He brought it in the compost bucket.

We didn't know what kind of snake it was. So we asked our neighbors, "What kind of snake is this?"

"It's a very poisonous snake!" they said.

We decided to take some pictures of this snake. We noticed that its' eyes blinked. Then in the photo we saw that our snake had grown front legs! It wasn't a snake at all! It was a baby lizard! We were wrong to label this lizard a snake! I was brave and I touched it. Then we let it go back in our compost pile.

To My Blog Readers:
Have you ever been mislabeled? What does that feel like?
Have you ever caught a snake that grew legs?

The Baptism

Today was a super Sabbath! I saw three Thai people get baptized today! There were two ladies and one man who were baptized by a Thai Pastor. I helped my dad video tape the baptismal service that was in the school’s swimming pool. The light was shining through the windows on the water, which looked really neat. We sang songs in Thai and English and praised the Lord together. The church members were all gathered around the pool singing hymns. It sounded nice. I have seen at least thirteen people get baptized here in Thailand in the two years I have lived here. I think that is really cool. I look forward to the day when I will get baptized.

For my blog readers:
  • What about you?
  • Have you been baptized?

My Favorite Game - Yang!

I would like to tell you about the game called “Yang”. ยางรัด is the Thai word for rubber band. All you need for this game is maybe 120 rubber bands that you loop together to make one long band. To make it nice and strong, you should loop 2 or 3 rubber bands together. If you do this, your yang will last a long time. I like to play “yang” with my friends here in Thailand.

Kids of all ages love to play this game. This is how the game is played. Two people need to hold the yang while a third person jumps. You jump over the yang for each day of the week, Sunday through Saturday, using the Thai words of course. You start jumping with the yang held close to the ground at feet level, and then you gradually raise the yang up higher and higher until it is at your head. Then you begin the next level at the feet again, but this time you must jump two times successfully. I like to play yang because it is fun to play and I can play almost as well as my Thai friends. It may sound easy, but it really isn’t. And it is really good exercise too.

Blog Readers:
  • Would you like to play yang with me sometime?
  • I would be happy to teach you.
  • What is your favorite game?

Roasted Bananas

Today I tasted roasted bananas. I've never seen a roasted banana before. Here's what happens:
  1. First, the man peals the mini bananas and then puts them on the charcoal grill.
  2. Second, he turns them slowly over the hot fire until they are toasty brown.
  3. Third, he puts them in a bag.
  4. Fourth, you buy them.
  5. Last, you eat the yummy roasted bananas!
What do roasted bananas taste like? They taste sweet!

I went to a meeting with my Dad, and guess what? He bought me my first sweet roasted banana for my brother and me!

Question:
Would
you like to taste a roasted banana? Yes or No

Crossing Into the Danger Zone: update 1

Here you can see the families moving out of the subsiding building into the tents set up by the police.

Here's the latest from the press about this local disaster on Soi Ramkhamhaeng 58/4
We were there when the City of Bangkok's "porta potty" bus drove through the narrow soi.

Pray for Pastor Kharom & his team as they are preparing food for those who have been displaced by this disaster.

Crossing Into the Danger Zone

This morning at 3 AM, a building sank backwards about 5 feet into the ground. Now the building is tilting, like the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is right next to one of our church plants. Why did it sink? Because Bangkok is sinking about 4 inches a year!

This sinking building is right next to our church plant in Ramkhamhaeng district of Bangkok. No one was reported hurt in this disaster, because God saved all the people living in this building.

Here I am with Pastor Kharom, standing in front of the church plant. The District Leader or Mayor came and set up the Disaster Relief Registration tables in front of the church plant. God spared the building our church plant is in from being damaged.

We gave out free bottled water to the people who were thirsty. We ran out of the bottled water in less than 20 minutes, because there was so many people there. Some of the people don't live in this neighborhood were police men, fire fighters & rescue workers, and the TV camera people.

We had to go to the store and buy more bottled water. We used our money to help others during this disaster in the Warm Zone.

The families all must move. So they moved all of their furniture and stuff out on the street. Some moved their things under some tents that the police set up.

The police came to guard the belongings of the families who have to move. I took this picture because they are drinking the water the kids from the church plant gave them!

I crossed the yellow tape to serve the people in need in the Warm Zone. Here in Thailand, the Warm Zone is the Danger Zone of a disaster or accident.

Jesus came to save me from sin in the Warm Zone of Earth.

Questions for my blog readers:
  1. How many years will it take for Bangkok to sink one meter?
  2. Have you ever helped others in need the the Warm Zone? How did you help? Please e-mail me.
  3. Will you help others in the Warm Zone here in Bangkok?
  • You can help by sending money so that we can buy water bottles & food for this neighborhood.
  • You can pray for the people to know Jesus' love for them.
  • Will you give water to the thirsty babies?

Matthew 25:31-46
31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
41
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
44
“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

At Grandma's Flower Garden

Today we went to my Grandparent's house. My Grandma loves to garden. We made lavender lemon aid and ate Grandma's yummy food. And we helped her in the garden too. We had so much fun there. I wish we cold stay longer but we can't. So I am sad that we couldn't stay longer.

Inviting friends

Today I invited my classmates to the evangelistic meetings.

Some of them said, "Sorry, I can't come because I'm too busy." Others asked, "What are these meetings like?"

One of my classmates came with me. We had fun doing crafts, singing songs, and learning new memory verses. I helped each night at the Registration Table with another one of my friends. My job was to hand out name tags to the boys and girls who came to the program.

The theme of these evangelistic meetings was, "Jesus, My Very Best Friend!"

These are the crafts that I did at the meetings!
  1. Basket of loaves and fish
  2. What do the dead know?
  3. Who is coming back?
  4. Days of Creation
  5. The Bible Tells Me . . .
  6. Heaven
  7. God answers Daniel's Prayer

The Garden, part 1

In my Life Skills Class at school, we started a garden in a raised bed. Last year we had hard clay soil in the raised bed. But it was like working in cement, and it got harder by the day, since it was so hot.

We made a custom made growing medium that was designed by Jacob Mittleider. It has fine sand, finely ground up coconut husks, and composted soil. We added minerals like dolomite, so that the soil would be balanced.

Questions for my readers:
  1. Have you ever had a raised bed garden before?
  2. Have you used the Mittleider method before?
  3. What lessons have you learned from growing a garden in a raised bed?

Visit to Dusit Zoo

Today I went to a zoo. It's called Dusit Zoo or เขาดิน. My family and I saw all kinds of animals there. I saw zebras, hippos, and giraffes from Africa.

I saw a sun bear and other animals. There are lots of different reptiles, some with sharp teeth like these crocodiles! The crocodiles smiled with their mouths open and the dentist birds cleaned the crocodile's teeth.

Another fun thing to do at the Dusit Zoo is ride the paddle boats. Inside the zoo there is a nice lake that you can explore by boat. But you have use your muscles to move the boat around the lake.

When it was time to go home, me and my dad were walking together. I was looking down, and I saw a deadly green viper snake on the sidewalk. My dad didn't see it, and almost stepped on it! But I said to my dad, "Watch out!" I saved my dad from stepping on the deadly green viper snake that was 3 feet long.

Do You Love Jesus? Yes or No

I love Jesus. Do you love Jesus? Yes or No

Last Sabbath I went to Sabbath School.
We sang songs together. I learned from the Bible about Jesus and His love for me. Jesus is coming very soon!

I am telling my friends that Jesus is coming back very soon! Some of my friends don't know Him, and I would be very sad if I couldn't play together with them in heaven with Jesus.

Dear Reader:

  1. Do You Love Jesus? Yes or No
  2. What are you doing to show Jesus you love Him?
  3. Who are you telling?

The Fruit of the Spirit

Come, listen to the kids sing at one of the church plants.

Galatians 5:22 - 23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Missionary Work is Fun!

Today I was a missionary for God. I got to play with my friends and my brother.

We helped get health Bible lessons ready to give away. These are old photo copies of Bible lessons on health from the Voice of Prophecy Bible School.

Lots of people today are sick. The Bible can help people not to be sick, and get better!

  • The Bible tells us about how drinking beer is bad.
  • The Bible tells us to eat lots of delicious fruits! I like mangoes!
I had a lot of fun with my friends today when we did missionary work.

Dear readers:
  • Please tell me, do you have fun with your friends doing missionary work for God
  • Tell me how you help others know God?
Write to me!

God takes care of you!

Today I went to one of the new church plants. We rode in a taxi. At church we sang songs together. One song that was my favorite was "God is Big!" Pastor Khongkrit told stories about Jesus, our Good Shepherd. Jesus takes care of me! I saw that the people enjoyed it alot!

Question: How has God taken care of you?

Psalms 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 พระองค์ทรงกระทำให้ข้าพเจ้านอนลงที่ทุ่งหญ้าเขียวสด พระองค์ทรงนำข้าพเจ้าไปริมน้ำแดนสงบ He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

3 พระองค์ทรงฟื้นจิตวิญญาณของข้าพเจ้า พระองค์ทรงนำข้าพเจ้าไปในทางชอบธรรม เพราะเห็นแก่พระนามของพระองค์ He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 พระองค์ทรงเตรียมสำรับให้ข้าพระองค์ต่อหน้าต่อตาศัตรู

I am sick - cough, cough and sneeze!

Today I am sick. I had to stay home from school. I had a fever. I got sick on Friday night. I had to go see the doctor at the hospital by my house. She told me to take this medicine and stay in bed. It is no fun to be sick.

I am going to bed now. Good night!

What do you do when you are sick?

Going to SMiLE!

Today I went to the first church service at Saturday Morning Live - SMiLE. Here are my observations about this church service.
  1. I like the music. They sang praise songs. One of of my friends, RJ, helped lead out in the music upfront. He played the piano.
  2. I liked the sermon. Pastor Roger Williams told the story about how Jesus crossed over the sea and helped the guys who who possessed by demons. Jesus wants to help us today!
  3. I liked the food.
  4. The room was nicely set up.
  5. I liked seeing some of my friends were there.
I would like to go back again to SMiLE!
